The HiVi F8 woofer utilizes a Kevlar and paper composite cone that has lower weight. higher rigidity. and an improved damping factor. The back of the cone is hand coated with damping compound to further maximize performance stability and control of resonances. Midrange clarity and tonal balance are remarkable. The F8 has been optimized for dynamic low bass reproduction in compact or medium vented enclosures. The driver employs a vented Kapton voice coil former and flat spider to avoid air compression and ensure maximum power handling. A massive aluminum die-cast basket has been developed to minimize structural resonances. and a shielded magnet structure enables the F8 to be incorporated easily into audio/video speaker applications. The F8 has an exceptionally smooth frequency response (within +/-1.7 dB tolerance in 70-3.000 Hz range. measured on an IEC baffle). which helps make the driver a perfect choice for high resolution 2-way or 3-way systems. Recommended crossover frequency for a two-way system design is 1.8-2.2 kHz.
